What an exciting morning at our elementary school! We loved welcoming our new and returning students to the building and helping them find their classrooms. There will be new routines to learn, but we're already off to a great start!

And, they’re back! It was great to welcome our high school and middle school students back this morning. We’re looking forward to a great year!

Seniors arrived this morning at 5:30 am to be the first ones at school. They gathered to watch the sunrise and take in the surrealness of their final year at DA. #DAclassof2026 #DAseniorsunrise

Delaware Academy's Opening Superintendent's Conference Day was today! Board of Education President Tammy Neumann joined Deputy Superintendent Carey Shultz and administrators in welcoming everyone back. It's going to be an exciting year!

Crews are putting the finishing touches on the lower multi-use field, ensuring that it's ready for soccer next week!

The varsity volleyball team has been hard at work this week, preparing to defend their MAC championship title. The season kicks off at home at 6:00 pm on Thursday vs. Bainbridge-Guilford. Let's go, Bulldogs!

Delaware Academy welcomed our new teachers and staff with a day-long orientation session today. The group took part in a number of activities and experiences, including a school bus ride around the district! Later, teachers enjoyed lunch with their teacher mentor– an experienced DA teacher who can provide additional support and guidance. We're all looking forward to the start of school next week!

Workers removed the weather vane today as they began work on restoring the weathered cupola. But don't worry– they'll put it back once the work is completed. The shine will be restored to our bell tower soon!

Monday was Pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten Roundup at the elementary school, and the halls were filled with the sounds of excited children! The students got to see their classrooms, meet their teachers and even go for a little bus ride! Parents also met the teachers, and heard from Ms. Dutcher, the new Elementary Principal, Gregg Verspoor the Director of Transportation, Elementary School Nurse Mariah Lieberman, the DASH (Bassett School Based Health Center) staff, Food Service Director Christine Miller, School Counselor Matt Albright and Speech Therapist Leslie McKeegan. The PTA was there as well! What a fun morning!

Reminder– the August board meeting is tonight, with the public session beginning at 6:00 p.m. in the High School Library Media Center. Crews began paving this week. It's exciting to see that smooth blacktop going down!

We love how our community supports our students!

While the construction of the athletic fields have generated a lot of excitement, there's been plenty of other work going on this summer, including new heating infrastructure, paving, security and technology upgrades, new lighting and sound systems, and new technology labs (to name just a few of the projects going on!). Our school has been a beehive of activity all summer, all over!
