15 students from Delaware Academy attended the State Leadership Conference of the NYS Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA), held March 19–20 at the Villa Roma Resort in Callicoon. Delaware Academy's Maja Margiotta wrapped up her term as NYS First Vice President of the state organization, and Grace Reynolds was officially installed as the NYS Vice President of Competitive Events for the upcoming year, continuing DA’s strong presence in state leadership.

Delhi FCCLA members Adalynn Schultz and Olivia McGonigal entered their chapter service project “Pizza and Paws” in the state-level competition. Partnering with Heart of the Catskills and Delhi Pizza Company, they created and distributed flyers featuring adoptable pets with local pizza orders. The project earned them an award in their event and an invitation to represent New York State at the National Leadership Conference in Washington, D.C. this July.

Delaware Academy Family & Consumer Science teacher Theresa Sherman was recognized for 20 years of dedication as an FCCLA advisor. The Delaware Academy chapter was also honored for its involvement in the State Project and the Community Service National Program. It was a fun and rewarding event!

They also learned a little about the FFA, one of the student organizations that they will be able to join when they become 6th graders.
