
Woo-hoo! Delaware Academy placed first in yesterday's Upstate Academy Challenge competition at SUNY Oneonta, besting 17 teams from 8 other schools to land the trophy. We're swapping places!
The Middle School Concert scheduled for Tuesday, June 3 will move to Thursday, June 5; the High School Concert scheduled for Thursday, June 5 will move to Tuesday, June 3. Both concerts are at 7:00 pm. This is to accommodate our student track & field athletes who advance to the state qualifier meet.


Mrs. Lane's first grade class celebrated the publication of their collaborative book, "Animals Around the World," with a reading party last week. For this project, students researched an animal, wrote about it, and created an illustration to accompany it; then it was all sent out for publishing. The lovely hardcover books have arrived, and made their debut at the celebration. When Mrs. Lane read their part in the book, each student received their "Published Author" certificate from Ms. E'moni. Congratulations to all of our young authors and illustrators!





Wednesday was the first harvest from Mrs. Gardner’s 2nd grade class garden. All the salads in the cafeteria were made with the fresh chives or lettuce, and they were delicious! Thank you Mrs. Gardner and Ms. Randall, and thank you student gardeners!











The golf team participated in sectionals Tuesday at the Delhi College Golf Course, placing 7th out of 13 teams. The top two DA finishers were Cameron Winner, who tied for 25th out of 84 golfers, and Carson Pashley who finished in 33rd. Congratulations, and thanks for a great season!



Delaware Academy's National Junior Honor Society chapter welcomed 12 new members last week in a ceremony on the high school stage. Congratulations to Emilie Choquette, Anna Dewitt, Augustus Green, Vivian Hulburt, Josephine Kelly, John Martanis, Andrew Nichols, Louis Pesout, Piper Smith, Sophia Smith, Mason Thompson and Kieran Walsh!











Last week, Mrs. Gibson and students from the Modern Band Class traveled to the Museum at Bethel Woods, where they learned more about the music of the 60s and early 70s and the history-making event that took place there.







With today's win over Oneonta, the Bulldogs have won the Section IV Team Championship in Tennis. Congratulations to Coach Sanford and all the varsity tennis players!


Those who came to the 4th & 5th grade concert Tuesday night got a chance to see some amazing artwork by our elementary students. Thank you, Mr. Kollig for setting up the show– it's great to see what they've created!

Mrs. Sherman and 5 students from her baking class teamed with a group from Walton CSD to prepare a variety of dishes for sampling at the Farm to School Eat & Greet event on Tuesday at Camp Shankitunk. Local farm producers, educators and school food service leaders gathered to mingle and try the school menu-ready dishes, prepared by the students using mostly locally-sourced ingredients. Service, collaboration, learning and fun– thanks, Mrs. Sherman, for providing this opportunity for our students!











Senior Rocco Schnabel, a Student Member of the Board of Education, cast the first ballot at today's budget vote and board election. Polls will remain open until 8:00 pm tonight in the middle school gym lobby. Come on up and vote!


The annual school budget vote and Board of Education election is today! If you are a district resident, please remember to vote. Voting will be held in the Middle School Gym starting at 12:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. There will also be a Chicken and Biscuit Dinner starting at 3 p.m. In the Middle School Gym lobby adjacent to the voting area sponsored by the Girls Basketball Program. Please vote, and get dinner while you're there!


Delaware Academy CSD at Delhi will hold its May board meeting on Monday, May 19, 2025, with the public session beginning at 6:00 p.m. in the High School Library Media Center. Those who are interested in viewing it online may do so at https://tinyurl.com/DA-BOE-May


15 Delaware Academy students were inducted into the National Honor Society Thursday night. Current members led the ceremony, with remarks by Mr. Shultz and keynote speaker Mr. Abts. The National Honor Society was founded in 1921, and promotes character, leadership, scholarship and service. Congratulations to all our new NHS members!








The tennis match against Lansing CSD will take place at home today, but will start a little later than the scheduled 3:00 pm due to a travel delay. Let's go, Bulldogs!


The basketball game pitting DA faculty and staff against Downsville's faculty and staff–sponsored by the DA High School Student Senate and originally scheduled for Friday, May 30th– has been canceled. A rematch will be rescheduled for the fall. Please stay tuned for updates next school year!
