On Tuesday March 26th, the Canasawacta Country Club was filled with attendees for the Chenango Women’s Leadership Conference, which organizers described as “an empowering day dedicated to celebrating and inspiring women leaders.” Three Delaware Academy students attended, thanks to a grant from the Community Foundation for South Central New York, which was facilitated by DCMO BOCES. The full day leadership program presented by Commerce Chenango gathered 198 participants, including students from seven of the DCMO BOCES component school districts. Brinley, Leah and Natalie were nominated by their school, based on their interest and leadership qualities. It was an inspiring day!

You can read more about the FFA’s maple syrup-making in this week’s Reporter newspaper– it’s a nice feature story on an impressive undertaking!

Ms. Wilcox's first grade class visited Mr. Layman in 7th grade to see igneous, sedimentary, and metamorphic rock examples. First graders are learning about the history of the earth and how rocks are formed. Mr. Layman used crayons to demonstrate how each type of rock was formed. The class favorite was the melted crayons cooling and hardening, just like igneous rocks are formed from molten magma and lava cooling. What a great example of cross-level learning!
Tonight! This in-person opportunity will be held at our elementary school from 4:00 - 5:30. If you'd like to learn more about the transition from CPSE to CPE, this one's for you!
