Join us tonight for the Annual School Budget Hearing at 7:00 pm in the high school library. There will also be an informal reception at 6:00 pm in the high school lobby where residents can ask questions and connect with the two incumbents running for the Board of Elections.

Members of the DA FFA, accompanied by Mr. Kline and Mrs. Somers, recently joined over 2000 participants from across NY State at the New York State FFA Convention in Buffalo. They attended a number of presentations (including from FFA State Officer and DA FFA Alum, Ellie Tarrants!), visited Niagara Falls, and toured Kelkenberg Family Farm. It was a memorable time!

Our senior Bulldogs signed letters of intent today! Nate Lull led the ceremony, which was organized and hosted by the DA Varsity Club. We look forward to their continued achievements as they move on to this next stage! #bulldogsforever

The Delaware Academy chapter of the National Honor Society held a 2-1/2 mile “Run for Hunger” event in Delhi on Saturday, raising awareness and collecting food and cash donations for local food banks. 32 people participated in the chapter’s community service event. We’re proud of our students’ commitment to service, and the community’s support of their project!

Today is School Lunch Hero Day, so we’re giving a shoutout to our heroes at Delaware Academy! Our students made signs and cards to let them know they’re appreciated! Thanks to our Director of Food Service Christine Miller and her staff for the wonderful job they do every day! #schoollunchheroes #bulldogseatbest

Our second grade students got a chance to create some amazing original songs with “Story Laurie” McIntosh, a local storyteller and musician. Over the course of several days, the students brainstormed, created new unique songs based on their recent study of insect life, and then performed them in an elementary assembly. Story Laurie’s songwriting residency was part of an Arts & Education Outreach program run by the Ashokan Center; that program is supported by a grant from the A. Lindsay and Olive B. O'Connor Foundation. Thank you second grade teachers, for making this happen!

The Board of Education will hold a Special Board Meeting on Monday, May 6, 2024 at 5:00 pm at Delaware Academy. It is anticipated that the Board will convene in an executive session to discuss matters related to personnel, with no action to be taken. There will not be a public portion or livestream for this meeting.

Thank you to Stephen A. Mishjko for his generous donation of a Yamaha student bass guitar and amplifier. The students in Modern Band are excited to take a turn on it and use it for their performance at the next concert on June 6!

The 9th/10th Grade Parent Night shown on the school calendar for May 9th was printed in error. This event will not be taking place.

Boys Varsity Baseball and Girls Varsity Softball games in Afton have been canceled.

Just look at these oil pastel chocolate bunnies created by our 5th graders. The project asked them to focus on highlights and lowlights/shadows. Deliciously good!

Congratulations to student scholar Victoria Verspoor and her mentor, Mr. All. For over 20 years, the Scholar Recognition Program has celebrated the achievements of top students and the mentors who inspire them. They will be honored in a ceremony at SUNY Oneonta on May 13. We're super proud of both of you!
