The PreK-2nd Grade Winter Sing-Along took place Tuesday, and what a lot of fun it was! Santa and his elves brought some extra holiday spirit with their surprise appearance. Thanks to Mrs. Buel, the teachers, aides and accompanist Mrs. Wheatley for making it all possible!
Students from the Modern Band and Music Theory classes visited Bethel Woods Center for the Arts on Monday with Mrs. Gibson and Ms. Lindner. Students toured the museum, which tells the story of both the iconic music festival that took place there and the broader cultural evolution in politics, music, art, and the big societal issues of the time. They also posed at the Woodstock Festival Monument, which commemorates the site of the original Woodstock Music Festival in 1969. It was a pretty groovy day!

The auditorium was filled with the wonderful music of our High School Winter Concert Thursday night. There were performances by the Jazz Band, Senior Orchestra, Senior Chorus, Concert Band, and soloists Paisley Smith, Keiran Synan and Briannah Pringle (accompanied by Evie Ainsworth and Mrs. Gibson). The Delaware Academy PTA is giving young entrepreneurs in our school an opportunity to show their stuff– vendors at this craft fair are DA students! This Saturday, in the middle school gym.
Despite the low temperatures, our DA Drum Line turned out in good form and good cheer for the annual Delhi Holiday Parade Friday night. Very cool, Bulldogs, very cool!

Five Delaware Academy students participated in the NYSSMA Zone 8 Area all-State Festival in Cooperstown on November 22. Daniella Pizzo performed with the Treble Choir, Asa Moxley with the Concert Band, and Eveline Ainsworth, Alanna Dones and Keiran Synan sang in the Mixed Choir. Thanks to Miss Lamb and Mrs. Lindner for their help preparing for the festival, and congratulations to all!
When it's a cold, wintry day, what better place to be than in the library for story time? This morning, it was Mrs. Burrows' kindergarten class that Mrs. Oliver was reading to. It was a good, cozy activity!
