It's almost time for our HS/MS Open House! The Class of 2027 is also hosting a Lasagna Dinner from 4-6 pm that night in the High School Cafeteria- hope we'll see you for both!

Remembering those we lost 22 years ago on 9/11.

It's back-to-school time for some area farms, too! Our school lunches have featured several specialty dishes already, including Bean and Bacon Soup, with slab bacon from Catskill Food Company, black and pinto beans from Samuel Weaver, white potatoes and carrots from Chicory Creek, and plain chevre cheese from Painted Goat Farm. Today's NY Thursday dishes included Lemon Garlic Chicken, with chicken from Greenane Farm, garlic and parsley from Chicory Creek, and unsalted butter from Family Farmstead, served with white potatoes and carrots from Chicory Creek. There were also Chickpea and Goat Cheese Rice Bowls, with local goat cheese from Painted Goat. Delicious, and local!

First day starts pretty early at the bus garage! Jennifer Rucker accompanied new driver Randy Stanton this morning. Students were able to disembark in front of the high school and use the new steps for the first day of school. We're off to a great start!

We're so excited to see everybody this morning!

Monday was Universal Pre-K and Kindergarten Roundup at Delaware Academy Elementary School. Our youngest Bulldogs came with their families to meet their teachers and classmates. What a fun morning!

It was Orientation tonight for 9th Graders and their families! Staff greeted the new high schoolers, who received their schedules and locker assignments, learned about pathways to graduation and extracurricular opportunities, and had the opportunity to find their new high school classrooms. Great job, everybody!

Delaware Academy officially welcomed new teachers and staff to the Bulldog family today, with a day-long orientation session. The group took part in a number of activities and experiences, including a school bus ride around the district! Later, teachers enjoyed lunch with their teacher mentor– an experienced DA teacher who can provide additional support and guidance to their new peers. This enthusiastic group is looking forward to the start of school next week!

Delaware Academy is once again the site of training for corrections officers from Delaware, Otsego and Sullivan Counties. The summer Delaware County Law Enforcement Academy is one of the ways that the school is serving the greater community, while also enhancing school security through greater familiarity with the campus among area law enforcement agencies.

Okay, 6th Graders– mark your calendars!

September menus for the High School/Middle School and the Elementary School are here! Monthly menus will always be available on the school website, along with a downloadable version. Also, look for NY Thursdays and other locally grown items on our menus each month! https://foodandhealthnetwork.org/farm-to-school-procurement/

Here's an opportunity to meet with our Special Education Director in a comfortable, informal setting. And there's cookies!

To all our new 9th graders– don't forget the orientation next Tuesday!

There was a productive discussion at Thursday night’s special board of education meeting. We’d like to thank the community for their interest and input. We’d also like to thank the members of the board for their diligence, commitment and attention to the needs of our students as they prepare for the next board meeting, to be held on Monday, August 21 in the High School Media Library Center (public session at 6:00 or as soon as executive session business has ended). The meetings will be live-streamed for those that are unable to attend in person, and that link can be found here: https://www.youtube.com/live/B4bUYhQpVNQ?feature=share
