The WDA Girls Wrestling team hosted Greene/Oxford Academy in Delhi Tuesday night. It was Senior Night, and DA's Hailey Brandenburg was recognized before the match. The team also presented Mr. Shultz with a framed picture commemorating the first officially-sanctioned girls wrestling team for the schools. While Oxford/Greene notched the win, it was a hard-fought match before an appreciative audience.

Students found to be following the school policy during a cell phone check last month were invited to enjoy ice cream today! Ms. VanKingsley, Mr. Chase and Ms. Trask were among the scoopers, and students got to add the toppings themselves. Skipping the screens during school has its rewards!

Delaware Academy competed in the Catskill Area School Study Council's Upstate Academic Competition at SUNY Oneonta yesterday, making it to the semifinals as the #3 seed among 14 teams. A loss to one of the Oneonta CSD teams in that round kept them from the championship this year, but they finished strong with a 4-1 record. Congratulations! Evie Ainsworth and Asa Moxley returned to the team for their second year, with Jason VanMaaren and Jack Mokay joining this year to complete the team. Mr. Chase is the advisor. Schools competing this year were Cooperstown CSD (3 teams), Oneonta CSD (3 teams) Seton Catholic Central School (3 teams), Milford CSD (2 teams), Delaware Academy CSD at Delhi, Gilbertsville-Mount Upton CSD, and this year’s champion, Greene CSD. (thanks to CASSC and DCMO BOCES Public Information Specialist Dean Russin for the photos).
