After a long, hard-fought day of wrestling, Cadence Guy made it to the medals podium at the NYSPHSAA girls wrestling championship for the second consecutive year. She finished 4th in the 100 pounds category, a place up from last year, and finishes the day at 3-2 and the season at 22-3. Students and staff were able to watch her matches on the big screen back at the school, and enjoyed cheering her on. Congratulations, Cadence, on an impressive accomplishment and a great season! Some photos in this post are provided by DCMO BOCES Public Information Specialist P.J. Harmer and Beverley Marschilok.

Samantha Gorsch is turning her passion for animals into real-world experience. This year, she had the opportunity to complete an internship with Animal Adventure Park & Reserve in Harpursville, NY. Through hands-on learning, she gained firsthand insight into what it’s truly like to work in an animal-focused career, from daily care routines to understanding the behind-the-scenes operations that keep a wildlife facility running smoothly. Animal Adventure Park’s Kayla Burke and staff invested their time, expertise, and mentorship to support their interns. Thanks to strong partnerships between local businesses and the Career Destinations program at DA, students like Samantha are able to connect classroom learning with real-world skills and professional networks.
