15 Delaware Academy students were inducted into the National Honor Society Thursday night. Current members led the ceremony, with remarks by Mr. Shultz and keynote speaker Mr. Abts. The National Honor Society was founded in 1921, and promotes character, leadership, scholarship and service. Congratulations to all our new NHS members!
The tennis match against Lansing CSD will take place at home today, but will start a little later than the scheduled 3:00 pm due to a travel delay. Let's go, Bulldogs!
The basketball game pitting DA faculty and staff against Downsville's faculty and staff–sponsored by the DA High School Student Senate and originally scheduled for Friday, May 30th– has been canceled. A rematch will be rescheduled for the fall. Please stay tuned for updates next school year!
The annual school budget vote and Board of Education election is this Tuesday, from 12 noon to 8:00 pm in the Middle School Gym Lobby. Don't forget to vote!
This week there will be no school on Friday May 23. There are also no classes on Monday 5/26 and Tuesday 5/27 next week; classes resume on Wednesday, May 28.
Our first graders visited O'Connor Hospital today! They learned about x-rays, making casts, and some of the many ways the medical providers in the emergency room can help a sick or injured patient. They also learned about medical transportation, seeing a Delhi Fire Department EMS ambulance and learning about helicopters from a LifeNet of New York employee. Meeting Hudson, the Bassett Healthcare security canine and his handler was a highlight of the visit. The hospital even provided lunch! Thank you Ms. Mostert, Ms. Lane and all the adult helpers on this trip, and a big thank you to O'Connor Hospital for hosting this fun and educational visit!

Delaware Academy’s FFA chapter celebrated the 100th anniversary of the New York FFA organization during their annual convention, held this year at the New York State Fairgrounds in Syracuse — the same location the first-ever FFA Convention was held in 1926. A century later, more than 3,400 FFA members, advisors and guests from across the state participated in the three-day convention, which provides an important opportunity for members to participate in workshops and tours, explore different fields in the agricultural industry and network with agricultural business professionals and colleges.
Anna Clark and Marshall LaPierre, both Delaware Academy seniors, received their Empire Degree, the highest state level honor. Congratulations, Anna and Marshal– your hard work and dedication is inspiring!

The location for tonight's Budget Hearing has been changed to the High School Library Media Center. Signs will be posted to direct the public to the library. The Budget Hearing will begin at 7 pm. The Meet and Greet for the Candidates will begin at 6:00 pm in the High School Lobby outside the Auditorium.
Since we entered May with two “snow” days left, the district has designated Friday, May 23 and Tuesday May 27 as “unused emergency days.” That means there will be no school and district offices will be closed on those days.
