Mrs. Lane's first grade class celebrated the publication of their collaborative book, "Animals Around the World," with a reading party last week. For this project, students researched an animal, wrote about it, and created an illustration to accompany it; then it was all sent out for publishing. The lovely hardcover books have arrived, and made their debut at the celebration. When Mrs. Lane read their part in the book, each student received their "Published Author" certificate from Ms. E'moni. Congratulations to all of our young authors and illustrators!

Mrs. Sherman and 5 students from her baking class teamed with a group from Walton CSD to prepare a variety of dishes for sampling at the Farm to School Eat & Greet event on Tuesday at Camp Shankitunk. Local farm producers, educators and school food service leaders gathered to mingle and try the school menu-ready dishes, prepared by the students using mostly locally-sourced ingredients.
