The Middle School Mid-Year Awards Ceremony will take place this week in the High School Auditorium. Hosted by the Middle School Senate, the event will include honor roll recognitions, student-elected awards, and a brief talent show. Please come help celebrate the talent and efforts of our middle school students!
Several of our 10th graders visited the DCMO BOCES campus in Sidney Center this week to explore the CTE programs and learn about opportunities available if they were to attend as juniors and seniors. They talked with teachers and current students, and participated in a number of hands-on activities. It was an informative visit!
This week, FFA student leaders from across the state attended the NY FFA State Leaders Experience in Albany. Delaware Academy students Delaney McCann and Hailey Brandenburg represented our school’s chapter at the 2-day event, where they met with legislative leaders and joined conversations and discussions about New York State agriculture issues and policies with legislators, NYS Department of Ag & Markets, NY Farm Bureau and a number of food banks from across the state. It was a great experience for the students, who were challenged to dig into the real agricultural challenges facing our state, pushed to think deeper, hear new perspectives, and recognize the power of their own stories as emerging leaders in the Empire State.
Here's another reason to look forward to spring: our students' musical production of "The Addams Family," scheduled for March 13, 14 and 15. Mark your calendars– you won't want to miss this!
The weather may be cold, but you'll still find our village crossing guards out there, helping students get to and from school safely each day. A big warm, thanks to Mr. Fitch, Mrs. Hood and Mr. & Mrs. Staples– we appreciate your dedication!

It's The Great Kindness Challenge at the elementary school this week, and Mr. Albright kicked things off Tuesday with an assembly. Students have been learning about the different forms kindness can take, and are encouraged to complete as many acts as they can this week. What a great (and kind!) week it's been! #bulldogsarekind

Delaware Academy CSD at Delhi will now hold its January board meeting tonight, Tuesday, January 27, 2026, with the public session beginning at 6:00 p.m. in the High School Library Media Center. Those who are interested in viewing the meeting online may do so at https://youtube.com/live/7hRGCii1n2g?feature=share. The meeting was originally scheduled for Monday night.
All athletic games scheduled for Monday, January 26 are postponed to a later date (time/date TBD).
Due to the inclement weather throughout the region, Delaware Acdemy will be closed on Monday, January 26. the Board of Education meeting scheduled for Monday evening has been rescheduled to Tuesday, January 27, with the public portion beginning at 6:00 pm.
Delaware Academy School Librarian Meg Oliver participated in a School Library System Communication Coordinators Meeting with 11 other school district representatives Thursday at the DCMO BOCES Support Services Center in Norwich. The Coordinators Meetings take place 5 times a year to review policies and procedures, participate in continuing professional learning, and receive updates to be shared with others in the member’s school district. The next meeting will take place in March.
8th grade students learned about some of the educational options that will be available to them in a few years. Mrs. McCall-Hopkins and Mrs. Jordan talked to them about the Career & Technical Education programs available at DCMO BOCES. Students can enroll in one of the 2-year programs when they are a junior.
