With September right around the corner, many parents are already planning meals and budgets ahead of the start of another school year. Delaware Academy would like to encourage all households to consider filling out the application for Free and Reduced Price School Meals (Download HERE) even if you feel your family’s income makes you ineligible!
Please return completed applications as soon as possible with your student. Applications are available on our website, main offices and in the published District calendar. Please note that the federal free lunch program that temporarily extended free school lunches to all students launched during the early days of the pandemic expired at the end of the 2021-2022 school year, and as a result Delaware Academy is no longer able to offer free breakfast and lunch meals to all students, however—many of our district families are eligible and never apply!
Simply completing and returning the Free and Reduced Meal Program application can have a positive impact that does more than benefit eligible families alone. Data from these applications qualifies us to participate in other Federal, State and Locally funded programs by demonstrating a need.
