The Delaware Academy/South Kortright Boys and Girls Cross Country teams competed in Section IV Championships Thursday, and both came away with Class D Team Championship titles– a repeat win and 7th in the last nine years for the boys, and the 9th in a row for the girls.
In addition, DA/SK had 11 runners qualify for the state championships and 4 runners named Section IV All-Stars. Congratulations to Section 4 All-Star/State Championships Qualifiers Lilly McGonigal and Aurelia Comer, and State Championships Qualifiers Daphne Vasilakis, Olivia Kruppo, Emma Smith, Zara Houshmand and Sally Kuhn for the girls. For the boys, Jaden Lewis and Langston Comer were named Section 4 All-Star/State Championships Qualifiers, and Emmett Tweed, Jason VanMaaren, Dylan Leddy, Henry Wilcox and Patrick Trimbell were State Championships Qualifier.
The cross country state championships take place in Queensbury on Saturday, November 15. Opening ceremonies are at 8:45 am, starting time for Class D girls is 10:00 am; Class D boys start at 1:00 pm. For more information including ticketing, visit here.
