Delaware Academy held the its annual high school commencement on Saturday, June 29. Fifty-seven seniors received their diplomas from Board of Education President Tammy Neumann during the graduation ceremony, and many awards and scholarships were presented. There were several musical performances by students: Erin Coppersmith performed the Star-Spangled Banner on violin, Luke Pringle sang "Go the Distance," senior musicians performed "Stand By Me," and senior vocalists led the audience in the school's Alma Mater. Other music was provided by bagpipers Liz Brown and Stephen Yearly and the commencement orchestral ensemble, directed by Mrs. Gibson. Speakers included exchange student Samyukthaa Ramesh, Class President Risdon Muther Reed, Salutatorian Victoria Verspoor, Valedictorian Easton Potrzeba, and school administrators, including High School Principal Crystal Trask and Superintendent Kelly Zimmerman. The senior class advisors this year were Mrs Doreen McGrath and Mr. Brian Rolfe.
