Band Performance Groups

High School Band

The Delware Academy High School Band is a concert band designed to enhance the musical skill level of high school band students through the performance of high quality original literature and transcriptions. The band members rehearse for school concerts, band festivals and community parades, providing a wide variety of opportunities for aesthetic expression and musical growth. This ensemble depends on the successful efforts of each individual and every individual is asked to contribute his or her part.  High School Band rehearses every other day during 9th period.

Middle School Band

The Delware Academy Middle School Band is a concert band designed to enhance the musical skill level of middle school band students through the performance of high quality original literature and transcriptions. The band members rehearse for school concerts, band festivals and community parades, providing a wide variety of opportunities for aesthetic expression and musical growth. This ensemble depends on the successful efforts of each individual and every individual is asked to contribute his or her part.  Middle School Band rehearses every other day during 9th period. 

Jazz Band

The Delaware Academy Jazz Band is open to students playing traditional jazz instruments.  The ensemble performs a wide variety of beginning and intermediate jazz ensemble literature.  During our school concerts the group has performed contemporary rock and pop arrangements, as well as,  latin jazz and swing charts.  The jazz band rehearses is considered an extracurricular activity and students rehearse during free time after school or during recreational periods.

Marching Band

The Delaware Academy Marching Band is a combination of both the High School and Middle School Bands.  The students rehearse after school in November and May, as well as, during concert band rehearsals.  All band students are expected to perform in our community parades.

Elementary Band

The Delaware Academy Elementary Band is designed to offer the 4th and 5th grade band students an opportunity to perform band literature in their first group experience.  5th grade band rehearses once a week and performs in the two Elementary Concerts in February and June.  In April, the 4th grade band members join the 5th graders for rehearsals and also perform in the Elementary Band for the the June Concert.
