Notice – Board of Education Election Petitions Available
Delaware Academy Central School District at Delhi Board of Education Election Petition packets are available. Board Members, Ro Avila and Kimberly Shephard, both hold terms that will expire on June 30, 2026. Both terms will run from July 1, 2026 through June 30, 2029. Election for Board members will be held at the Annual Budget Vote and Board of Education Elections on Tuesday, May 19, 2026 at the Delaware Academy Central School District at Delhi from Noon to 8:00 p.m.
If you are interested in running for a Board seat, you may pick up a petition in the District Office between the hours of 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m, Monday through Friday. The petition must be signed by at least 25 qualified school district residents and returned to the District Clerk by 5:00 p.m. on Monday, April 20, 2026.
As per School Law, to be qualified to run for the Board, you must be able to read and write, be a qualified voter of the District and a resident of the District for the continuous year prior to the election, you may not reside with another member of the same school board as a member of the same family, you may not be a current employee of the school board, and may not simultaneously hold another public office.
