Delaware Academy will have a new Internet-Enabled Device Use Policy for the 2025-2026 school year that complies with recent changes to New York State Education Law. You can find the full school policy here.
Beginning in September:
• Students will not be permitted to use internet-enabled cellphones or personal devices during the school day. This includes before, during and in between classes, during lunch and during recess and rec period
• The policy applies to any smartphone, tablet, smartwatch, earbuds or other device capable of connecting to the internet and enabling the user to access content on the internet, includingsocial media
• The policy applies to all grade levels in elementary, middle and high school
• All devices will be secured upon entering the school buildings, in either secure classroom containers (elementary) or personal device caddies (middle and high school) or main offices
