Delaware Academy Student Health (DASH)
Summer Hours at DASH
We are pleased to announce that modified school-based health center services will be offered at DASH this summer.
Services will be provided by Mary Schmitt, NP, on Wednesday mornings, 8:00 AM to Noon. The summer schedule will run from July 9 to August 6. Also, some mental health services will be available by appointment. As with regular SBHC services students must be enrolled in the SBHC to receive care. Students do not need to attend summer programs to use the school-based health center.
For an appointment or more information, please call the DASH office at 607-764-7454. |
Delhi Central School and Bassett Healthcare work together to provide health care to the students at Delhi Central School through the Delaware Academy Student Health (DASH) program. DASH will be entering its 17th year of operation. It is an innovative healthcare delivery program that provides primary and preventive health care services to students enrolled in the program. Some of the services provided include complete physical examinations, immunizations, and diagnosis and treatment of short term and long term illness, mental health services and health education, a tobacco prevention and cessation program, and a dental case management and oral health education program, “Healthy Smiles and Happy Friends,” and a pedometer walking program, Centralpede.
DASH will bill students’ health insurance for all services provided including physical examinations. No family would ever have to pay out of pocket for any service provided at the DASH. It is recommended that families become familiar with their child’s health coverage, especially regarding annual exams, in order to avoid billing difficulties. For students without health insurance, or if a child’s health insurance does not cover SBHC visits, there will be no charge. Families without health insurance for their child(ren) interested in finding out about free to low cost insurance, should call Tracia Muller at 746-7454 or Delaware Opportunities at 746-1660.
If a family should inadvertently receive a bill or statement they do not understand from Bassett Healthcare or your child’s health insurance regarding SBHC services, please contact the DASH office immediately at 746-7454.
In order for SBHC to provide optimal care it is important that we have current information on each child. New enrollment forms will be sent out and must be completed for every child, every year in January. Please notify the DASH office immediately with any changes in address, contacts, health history or insurance information. |
