Grading Policy

Your Quarterly grade will be made up of the following:

40% Tests and projects
  • failed tests must be taken home and signed by parent/guardian.
  • All late work (up to 3 days) lose 10 points per day.
    • 30% Homework
  • Any missing and /or late homework will deduct points from your homework average. Save all of your homeworks in your Social Studies Binder

    Homework Grading Policy:
    Most homework assignments will be given a check unless stated otherwise. Essays and projects will be graded using rubrics.
    -A check is worth 6 points. Homework MUST be turned in and complete on the day it is due to receive full credit.
    -You homework grade for each marking period will be a total of all check points earned, divided by the total check points possible.
    Example: 20 assignments given, 6 points each, total possible points is 120- you earned 90 points. Therefore your grade is determined by 90/120=.75 or 75%. Your homework average= 75%.


    Projects will be graded based on individual and group performance. Your Social Studies Binder must be organized and neat.
