Course Outline

• Seventh Grade Social Studies is an exploration of American History & N.Y. State History from the "first Americans"-the Native Americans before Columbus arrived - through the Civil War.
• Memorizing names and dates are not the focus in my class: you will learn why events happened the way they did.
• Important topics include:

• Exploration

• Colonial America

• The American Revolution

• The Constitution and U.S. Government

• Westward Expansion

• Slavery

• The Civil War

• Current Events

• Students can expect to work in groups and individually.
