The Delhi Central School District Computer Technology Department is committed to offering the most current computer techologies the industry has to offer. The Technology Department has chosen the Smart Board as one of the most influential piece of computer technology currently available to school districts. The Smart Board is widely thought of as a very versatile tool. The Smart Board will meet the needs of all visual learners with its ability to display graphics, movies clips and much more on the screen. Through the use of audio files and the additional sound system attached to the Smart Board the teacher can address the needs of the auditory learner. The kinesthetic and tactile learners can also have their needs met because of the nature of the Smart Board and its ability to draw students out of their chairs to work in front of the class. Through this multi-learning-style approach all students will begin to gain confidence in their talents to do the work asked of them and become more capable of working with state of the art technology.

A smart board is an interactive screen that allows the teacher to display a computer screen for the entire class to see. The screen is also a touch screen that allows the student to come to the front of the room and demonstrate knowledge in various ways for the class and the teacher to see. The students can take pride in the work that they can demonstrate to the rest of their classmates. This is all done in a way that the students are having fun while they are learning to use technology and demonstrate knowledge in a particular classroom curriculum. Lessons can be stored digitally for reference later. The lessons can be loaded onto a website or emailed to absent students.
